The Doctrine of Adoption

James 1:27 states that pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans in their distress..... Our goal is to bring two boys from Colombia, South America to a "forever home," where they can see and learn the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and come into a personal relationship with Him, by being raised in a Christian home by a family that loves them.

Our First Entry - March 1, 2010

The Bundren family is stepping out in faith per the directive from James 1:27, which says that
"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."

We are also stepping out in faith that we have the technological capability to maintain a blog. I must admit that setting it up was easy, but keeping it going with pictures, music, videos, etc. may be a real challenge for us.

There will be information forthcoming from our blog on future fundraisers that you can participate in. We will soon be establishing a relationship with www.147millionorphans.com to begin our first fundraiser. This organization works with families who are in the process of adoption to help raise money to pay for their adoption fund expenses.

Stay in touch on a regular basis to see what stage we are in. Big dates coming up are our interviews with the social worker with Angel's Cove in Mt. Vernon. We meet with her in Mt. Vernon on Thurs. 3/11/10 and she is coming to our home on Fri. 3/12/10 for our home study. Let's hope and pray that we can get the house straightened up by that time. :)

Some of our family members have volunteered to help us with our spring cleaning/home study preparation cleaning day. We hope that the weather cooperates for us to get our windows washed, pool deck furniture back out, and paint touchups.

If you want to email us to find out how you can help in our adoption process, please contact Edna at ebundren1@yahoo.com or Mark at markbundren@gmail.com Primarily, we need your prayer that God will direct our efforts in bringing two South American boys, Gabriel Wyatt and Aiden Josiah, to their first and only "Forever Home."

  1. Mark,
I am fairly confident that the least of your worries during your home study will be making sure that your pool furniture is out and ready for the season.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  3. "Only one life, will soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last."

Thank you for living in light of James 1:27! The blog looks good. When I think of all that God has been doing in the life of the Bundren family the past year or so, it draws me into praising the Father who adopted ME.

Praying for your two boys in Columbia.

    Much love-
