The Doctrine of Adoption

James 1:27 states that pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans in their distress..... Our goal is to bring two boys from Colombia, South America to a "forever home," where they can see and learn the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and come into a personal relationship with Him, by being raised in a Christian home by a family that loves them.

An exciting two days

Hello all. Blessings to you in the name of Jesus. We have two very exciting days coming up. On Thurs. 3/11/10, we will be traveling to Angel's Cove in Mt. Vernon for interviews with our social worker. Both Edna and I have a two-hour interview with the social worker separately. That should be interesting.

On Fri. 3/12/10, our social worker will be coming to our home for our home study, which is a very important function in the adoption process. We are not super concerned about not passing our home study, but we hope that our social worker approves of our home and family so that we can continue to pursue the adoption of our sons from Colombia.

Once the home study process is complete, we will be able to start submitting our federal dossier to the US State Department, and apply for a visa, so that we can travel to Colombia to meet our future family.

We have been doing lots of work around the property/house to get things in order. Say a prayer for us that all goes well.
